Dodie

Dorothy Miranda Clark (Dodie), 25, from Epping (Essex), England is a singer/songwriter with a unique twist. Dodie's vocals are calming, dreamlike and wispy which are a great compliment to her gentle voice and aura! Dodie is an excellent role model to her fans and produces music that many can relate and empathise with.

Dodie kick-started her career in the industry by uploading YouTube videos of her performing covers of songs with her ukulele and piano back in 2011. She has progressed to performing a mixture of covers and originals - but mainly sticks to her originals.

In 2016, Dodie independently released her first EP named 'Intertwined'. The EP was very successful and reached number 25 on the UK album charts in its first week of being released.

In 2017, Dodie released her second EP named 'You'. It became evidently more popular than 'Intertwined', as it reached number 6 on the UK album charts. It also made it to the US Billboard charts at number 55.

Dodie is also part of the LGBTQ+ community, she made a public YouTube video to come out as bisexual to her subscribers, and also mentioned that the video could be sent to friends to make coming out more fun and exciting, instead of scary and daunting - and her video would do the scary part for you!

Her most recent release has been her 'Human' EP. This was released in 2019. One song from the album stood out to me, personally. It was the song titled 'Arm's Unfolding'. This song had been teased for a month, Dodie hid lyrics in her videos, where she would sing them as the right note then merge them all together to form the song.
