Luz started her career from her bedroom, posting anonymous covers under the name @secretpersonthatsings. This was to avoid people knowing who she was, therefore she was able to use this as a purely creative outlet with no baggage attached.

Luz’s debut track ‘I’m Lonely’ is a particularly emotional song that is a brave cry-out for love, affection and intimacy. The timing of the release (just as many countries were going into lockdown as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic) meant that the lyrics were very meaningful and emotional for many people.

The simple yet beautiful piano accompaniment reflects the melancholic feeling of the song and forces the listener to hear the lyrics more than the music - giving it a much deeper meaning and understanding.

The repeated phrase “why don’t we talk?” helps to convey the frustration and upset that many people can feel after the end of a relationship when they are going through heartbreak and loss. It can also be as simple as the song’s title suggests; you can feel extremely lonely and just want any form of attention.

Luz’s career has soared and she has received the attention of a much wider audience this year.
